Buyer II

Job Description:

Represent the purchasing activity in vendor solicitation of bids, processing purchase orders, spot buys, new product research, invoice reconciliation and supplier development. Works independently with very limited supervision and in collaborative environment. Accomplish any and all work assignments as directed by management.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Inquire, analyze and negotiate multiple quotations to ensure best source/cost practices.
  • Coordinate vendor bids for blanket orders and spot buys.
  • Research new products, services and suppliers.
  • Process electronic requisitions and purchase orders for initial buys, repeat buys and spot buys.
  • Follow-up with suppliers on order status, as well as discrepancies with quality and/or quantity.
  • Expedite delivery if required to meet plant requirements.
  • Research and disposition payments on various invoice issues.
  • Monitor supplier performance and coordinate with various departments on more complex problem solving if necessary.
  • Establish and report Supplier Diversity for Customers.
  • Maintain and update Supplier certifications in current Purchasing system.

Cost Estimator

Job Description:

Responsible for providing cost estimates of changes to dies as requested by customers.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Provide timely responses to customer requests for quotes by working closely with tooling engineers to understand the change affects to dies.
  • Communicate often with customers to clearly define scope of work on RFQs.
  • Follow-up with customers on past RFQ submissions and inquire on new business opportunities.
  • Understand current tool shop work load capacities including equipment and labor needs.
  • Track in-coming customer Purchase Orders (PO) and invoicing of said POs.
  • Help sales manager track and understand planned vs actual value add of all new awarded business.
  • Coordinate with various logistics support entities to transfer tooling in and out of tool shop as seamlessly as possible including US customs requirements if applicable.
  • Excellent communication with customer’s with more responsibility than a Commercial Specialist.
  • May train and advise Commercial Specialist on projects.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent of 6 years’ experience in manufacturing cost estimation.
  • Tool & Die skilled trades background a major benefit.
  • Proficient in computer application software; (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio).

Assistant Controller

Job Description:

Function as the lead staff accountant/financial analyst within the Finance department, training, mentoring and assisting staff in their day-to-day work duties as needed. Assist the Controller in achieving his/her responsibilities and in coordinating work efforts within the department.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Assist the Controller in managing the general accounting, treasury, budgeting, standard costing, and project accounting functions so that they effectively handle routine business financial requirements and add value to the organization.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Company’s financial and accounting systems and serve as a technical resource for staff and management.
  • Provide accounting, analytic and financial expertise to support and complement other Finance staff positions.
  • Backfill, on a short-term basis, for Finance staff vacations, leaves of absence and vacancies, or during times of peak workload.
  • Monitor and analyze departmental processes and suggest, coordinate, develop and/or implement improvements.
  • Develop and maintain corporate and departmental financial reports which lead, through analysis and interpretation, to improved Company resource allocation and profitability. Prepare and/or review monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc financial reports and distribute to internal and external users.
  • Research accounting policies and procedures for reporting under generally accepted accounting principles, U.S. tax code and industry standards.
  • Assist other departments as needed in work that impacts the financial systems or financial results of the Company.
  • Prepare and provide summary, detailed and analytical financial information for the annual financial audit. Coordinate and/or assist Finance staff, other TSAC associates and third parties in providing information for the audit.
  • Prepare or coordinate tax and other regulatory compliance reporting.
  • Assist management in developing an annual corporate operating budget, and financial and cash forecasts. Report monthly budget results to TSAC management.
  • Maintain the Company’s general ledger. Review adjusting entries to be made to ledger accounts and approve unusual and/or non-recurring entries. Review and analyze ledger balances for reasonability and investigate unusual items.
  • Monitor daily activity in the Company’s bank accounts. Prepare or review detailed monthly reconciliations of the Company’s bank accounts to the general ledger cash balances. Investigate unusual items. Report results of these reviews to the CFO, Executive Manager-Finance and Controller.
  • Prepare forecasts of cash flows and cash balances to ensure adequate cash to meet the Company’s operating needs. Advise management of anticipated events which could adversely affect the Company’s cash availability.
  • Coordinate the monthly accounting close to ensure the issuance of accurate and timely financial statements. Direct and assist department staff as needed in the performance of close tasks.
  • Provide analysis and support for special projects as requested by management.

Basic Education, Experience and Training Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a concentration in Accounting. CPA, CMA, MBA or equivalent required. Seven to ten years of combined progressive public accounting and private industry accounting experience, preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Experience in analyzing and developing reliable and efficient financial processes and internal controls. Exceptional computer skills, including significant experience using manufacturing ERP systems, reporting tools, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting and basic US corporate tax issues required.

Senior Financial Analyst / Senior Accountant

Job Description

Prepare timely and accurate financial analysis and reporting which aids management in making sound business decisions.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Financial Reporting – Compile and analyze financial information to support financial statements and management reporting. Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures; research accounting and reporting issues. Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met. Prepare financial reports for management and third-parties. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end accounting close. Prepare or collect detailed and summary information for the annual financial audit. Assist Controller in preparing draft audited financial statements. Maintain the company’s general ledger. Prepare and/or review adjusting entries made to ledger accounts. Review and analyze ledger balances for reasonability and investigate unusual items.
  • Treasury – Analyze interest expense/income, debt balances and associated finance expenses. Prepare and maintain debt amortization schedules. Prepare and follow-up on audit confirmation letters for banks, lenders, related parties and attorneys. Maintain corporate cash projections. Prepare reconciliations of bank accounts to general ledger balances.
  • Sales, Inventory and Cost Analysis – Analyze sales, inventory balances and cost of goods sold. Analyze variances from standard product costs and determine root cause. Calculate standard labor and burden rates. Maintain standard costing information in ERP system. Assist in annual physical inventory.
  • Project Profitability Analysis – Prepare monthly analysis of project-to-date revenues and costs for open projects. Gather documentation to support accounting recognition of project revenues and costs.
  • Governmental Reporting – Prepare various required governmental forms. Research miscellaneous tax issues.
  • Budget – Assist management in compiling annual corporate operating budget and updates as required. Prepare monthly analysis of actual results to budget.
  • General Accounting – Participate in month-end accounting close. Perform monthly account reconciliations, analysis and reporting as assigned. May train, assist and/or review work of other Finance staff. Provide and explain information to auditors during annual financial audit. Participate in identifying and implementing process improvements within the Finance Department. Participate in cross-functional teams within the Company as appropriate. Assist in other Finance duties as needed.
  • ERP System – Analyze usage of the Company’s ERP system for financial processes and recommend changes to improve efficiency and accuracy of data.
  • Other work assignments as directed by management.

Basic Education, Experience and Training Requirements

Four-year degree in Accounting, or Finance with an Accounting concentration, and minimum 5 years progressive financial and/or manufacturing accounting experience. CPA or CMA preferred. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting. Ability to work and problem-solve independently with minimal supervision. Above-average computer skills, including advanced Excel and significant ERP software experience. High ethical standards, flexibility, dependability, initiative and analytical thinking skills.

Job Description:

Account Manager

Job Description:

Responsible for assigned accounts, including quoting and estimating prices for new quotations. Managing sales program coordination through interaction with all pertinent departments within Thai Summit America Corporation. Development of new and existing accounts to reflect stated company objectives and goals. Accomplish any and all work assignments as directed by management.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Advise related departments in responding to customer requests and concerns.
  • Estimate and submit quote prices maximizing company requirements.
  • Negotiate a profitable piece price, tooling, cost for Engineering changes, new program quotations and other related cases.
  • Develop and issue interdepartmental reports to track sales functions and department performance through a quality operating system.
  • Direct supervision of Sales Representatives and Customer Service Representatives without responsibility for initiating action on hiring, dismissing, promotions or pay increases.
  • Providing timely and accurate information to Customer requests and concerns.

Layout Technician (2nd shift)

Job Description:

To provide CMM/dimensional data to TSAC team members in a timely manner. To utilize all types of measurement equipment available. This includes: CMM, Optigo, layout machines, DataMytes, hand tools, etc. Accomplish any and all work assignments as directed by management.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Operate CMM as well as online/offline programming.
  • To accurately utilize surface plate tools. (Micrometer, Vernier Height Gage, Squares, etc.).
  • To manufacture form templates, splashes and any type of special means tooling required to support TSAC.
  • To manufacture and repair detail and assembly checking fixtures.

To insure Layout Department is properly maintained

Minimum Requirements:

  • Journeyman or equivalent Layout experience.
  • Tool Makers experience to include machining and bench knowledge.
  • Knowledge of PC-DMIS.

Die Finisher / Die Maker (2nd & 3rd shift)

Job Description:

Service and support manufacturing goals and objectives. Implement Die Maintenance Department processes and procedures to yield results that “delight” our customers (internal and external). Accomplish any and all work assignments as directed by management.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Coordinate with Department Management Staff status/activities associated with ECN’s, Project Launches and assigned die repair/modifications.
  • Instill good communications between shifts and departments for Die Maintenance activities.
  • Assist and advise in new/off-load die tryout projects through buy-off.
  • Attend meetings for Die Maintenance Department activities (internal and interdepartmentally).
  • Assist in preparing action plans for major die repair activities.
  • Help with training of Die Finisher personnel.
  • Respond with maintenance activities to die-related production concerns.
  • Interface with Department Management for workplace improvement planning.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Die Maintenance Skills- as outlined in the Skills Assessment for Die Finishers.

CNC Machinist (2nd & 3rd shift)

Maintenance Technician (2nd & 3rd shift)

Job Description:

  • Performing emergency repairs of machine and equipment during production.
  • Performing PM’s on machine/equipment.
  • Perform work on new machine/equipment.
  • Provide support in supplying quality parts for customers.
  • Working on problem solving teams.
  • Working with Production Engineering.
  • Working with Quality Assurance
  • Working with Production.

Program Manager

Job Description:

  • Primary customer contact and manages customer satisfaction regarding: Cost, Quality, Delivery and Concerns. Manages and coordinates conflict resolution with customers and Thai Summit
  • Primary customer contact for new programs. Initiates and updates BOM, development process, timing, and quality.
  • Coordinates and manages feasibility & engineering changes.
  • Coordinates and manages launch projects including APQP & PPAP.
  • Establish and maintain project
  • Open concern matrix and seeks engineering support from Assembly and Stamping Engineering after quote is completed, or as needed. Meets periodically with the launch team to review the concern matrix.
  • Coordinates and manages supplier and in-house coordination and follow0up.
  • Coordinates and manages research and development/new technology assistance.
  • Adherence to launch methodology process.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or Journeyman or equivalent (10 years) combined education/experience in tool & die with large body panels.
  • Must have a minimum of 4 years in relevant Engineering Program Management experience with a similar company with similar products.
  • Ability to interpret Engineering information, computer skills (Excel, MS Project, PPT) and customer specific systems is expected (Ford -WERS; GM; Chrysler)

Entry Level Controls Engineer

Job Description:

Support the new vehicle development of TSAC programs by exchanging technical information with others in the department and management. Support material, equipment, and product specifications and process requirements with minimal direction from a more Senior Engineer or management. Provide the department with design alternatives that facilitate manufacturing feasibility. Assist and/or lead in research & development activities. Provide training/mentorship to less experienced Engineers. Accomplish any and all work assignments as directed by management.

Job Description:

Support the new vehicle development of TSAC programs by exchanging senior level technical Engineering information from the customers. Support material, equipment, and product specifications and process requirements. Provide the customer with design alternatives that facilitate manufacturing feasibility. Ability to handle large programs, multiple projects, or projects/programs deemed significant to TSAC requiring the skills of only an experienced Engineer.   • Die experience is required
  • Engineering Study Skill (See product shape then can be make process sheet include die size and FCR)
  • Knowledge of die build process
  • A machine or tool background.
  • Project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • 2D or 3D design skill.
  • Experience with at least 1 of the following: CAD, AutoCAD, Catia, NX or Autoform.
  • Knowledge of die build process and die process skill.
  • T/O attendance and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret Engineering information.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Forming analysis skill.
